Plot
:
Kimalaya Kingdom, a
prosperous and peaceful kingdom led by King George was attacked by big Giant,
which was the transformation of a sorcerer. The kingdom was endangered and the
king was so confused. General John, the brave general of this kingdom finally
took a mission to destroy the Giant. With his three brave soldiers, he went to
Jungle Puspo to kill the Giant. At the end, in the jungle, they trapped the
Giant and the general finish his last mission. What will happen in the
following story? Read and enjoy the story!
In Kimalaya
Kingdom, there was a king who was very wise and loved by all people. He lived
with the queen and had a very beautiful Princess named Julia. Julia is a kind
and humble princess. Therefore, all people love her: she had many friends
either from noble family or commoners. One day the king has a talk with his
Princess in Royal Park.
“My dear, I was
old, I really want you to get marry and has a husband to change my position”
said King George to his beautiful Princess.
“Dad, I’m not ready
yet to make a family Dad” Julia replied “beside that I do not have yet a Lord
to get marry with me” Julia added
”How if you get
marry with General John?” The king asked
“Dad, please don’t
force me, I will choose my husband by my self” Julia closed the conversation,
she directly went to her room.
Day by day, year by year
passed, and the kingdom was in peace until one day when a Giant attacked and
killed many people. The Giant broke all houses and farms. The people were
suffered because of him. The king conscripted all of his soldiers to destroy
the Giant but no one could. Being so confused, the king made a meeting with all
of his ministers and privy counselor. Some of the ministers proposed that the
king should leave the kingdom for his safety. Yet the others said that the king
should not leave the kingdom as the people needed him. Hearing this confusion,
the general, finally came before the king to give a proposal.
“My Lord, In the
name of our kingdom, please, allow me to take this mission to destroy the evil
Giant” said the general.
“But, how will you
kill the Giant, General John?” said the king.
“The Giant weakness
core is in his heart and I will stab my sword in it” General John added.
“I’m going to take
some of my best soldiers with me”.
“I’m not doubt that
you are one of my great warriors, perhaps you’re the best. Yet, you’re old
enough to retire, my friend”
”I know that we
know each other very well as we grew up together Your Majesty. You should not be
so worried about me. I’ll be honorable to finish this mission before I retire”.
On the next day, the
general and his men was about to leave the castle to take the mission. “My
Lord, if something happened to me, my son will replace my position. He has been
a great soldier though he is still lack of experience, but I believe he can
help you protect this kingdom”.
“I will always
remember that my friend” said the king
”Thank you for Your
Majesty” thanked the general, Without saying any more words, General John left
the castle to kill the Giant in mount Frig, a spot assumed to be the first
appearance of the Giant. Once General John and his men arrived at the top of
the mountain, a huge dark shadow like a bird flew over them. It turned around
and finally landed near in front of them.
”hoaaaaaaaarggg….”
roared the Giant.
“What took you to
this place, mortal” said the Giant frighteningly.
“howhhh,…it’s
impossible!!! A speaking Giant?!!” said Samuel, the captain.
“As I thought, this
is not mere Giant captain, he is sent by a sorcerer” said the general”. “
Hohoho,..So, you have known everything pathetic human!! Then prepare for your
death!!” Said the Giant while starting to fire flame to the soldiers. As the
Giant was firing a big fire ball, the general and his men evaded. Yet, the
flame made huge hole. The general and his men ran to the forest to distract the
Giant. “Where are you going, coward, Hohoho,…!!!”laughed the Giant while
chasing the general and his men.
At the moment when General
John and his men got in the forest, they set a trap. “Samuel, Edward and you
Stuard, prepare yourself with rope. We will tie this Giant and I will stab my
sword in his heart.Understood?!”.
”As you command
Sir” said Samuel, Edward and Stuard together.
As the Giant
entered the forest, General John and his men hid.
”huaaarrrrrr,….Where
are you mortal!! Show yourself!! Let me kill you alive!!”.
”Srettt,,..Sretttt”
the trap ran as what had planned. The Giant was strongly tied and could not move.
”Arghhhh,…you damn
mortal, you trapped me” said the Giant angrily.
Suddenly, without
saying any word, General John, jumped and stabbed his sword in the Giant’s
heart. The Giant was dead and he turned out to be an old women.
She used to be the
king’s witch who was expelled because she disobeyed the king.
Finally, the
peaceful returned and General John came back to the kingdom.
Then General John
got marry with Julia, and they live together and become The King and Queen of
Kimalaya Kingdom a few years later after King George passed away.

I.Background
a.Reasons
As the user of a certain language, the human beings choose the words to make a sentence and explore or say the language to others, either by oral or writing manner. Generally, a language is not only used to share the message but also to strike the interest. Therefore, the use of language can be interpreted to influence, conquer, incline, and domesticate others and the action is the specification of the effects of the communicative acts. The very fact that speech acts are conventional means that specifying the effects of the utterance of, say, a declarative sentence or performance of an assertion, requires taking into consideration many possible deviation from the conventional use of sentences – specifically uses that are insincere, not serious or indirect.
In this final project of Discourse Analysis, the writer will not discus the language in oral, but the writer will discus the writing language especially in mass media. Most of us know that all mass medias always expose and criticize the hot news that is interesting in the society, but not all mass media uses the unique way to criticize or expose the problem facing by the society. In this report, the writer will show us about the mass media that discusses and criticizes the incident of the hot news that is discussed by the society of Indonesian at that time by using the pictures.
Here, the writer takes one of mass media that using that way, the mass media is Jawa Post. In the part of sheet of its, Jawa post provide the page for the readers to give the opinion about the phenomena’s facing. In this sheet, the readers can see “Clekit” that is the simple picture always criticize the phenomena’s facing.
b.Significances
After reading this report, the readers will know more about the simple way of mass media that criticize the phenomena’s facing, as politic, social, etc. we could realize that a simple language and picture can make the readers know and understand what the creator means.
II.Discussion and Analysis
The writer will use the simple theory of Dell Hymes who proposed the theory of SPEAKING. The discussion related to Criticize used in mass media of Jawa Post will be explained in turn as below.
a.Picture 1 (Datum 1)
The picture above is one kind of criticism of Clekit pictures in the mass media of Jawa Post. At the glance, the creator of this picture (Wahyu Kokkang) always criticizes the phenomena in the society clearly by drawing the Clekit pictures and a little sentence that can be understood by the readers. In the picture above discuss and show the readers about the phenomena of Pujiono Cahyo Widianto or well known as Syeh Puji; the riches man comes from Semarang who married with the beautiful young girl in his environment; Ulfa. When he married Ulfa, Ulfa is still 12 years old. This phenomenon’s raised to public and became the most favorite news. Every single person was talking about the news and always waiting for the progress report. The commission of Indonesian children protection (KPAI) observed and wanted to make a solving of the problems. Facing this problem, Syekh Puji thought that he follows Rasul by taking marriage Siti Aisyah who was 9 years old at that time. The analysis of the picture will be explained clearly by using Hyme’s SPEAKING theory below:

Talking about the scene, the picture above has strong effect to the readers; the readers may imagine that being Syeh Puji is very nice, they can do what they want by the Richness.
The setting of the picture above (that discussed about the Syekh Puji Phenomena) was in mass media of Jawa Post, especially in the chapter of “opini” in the page 6 on the 25th of October 2008.

We could know more about who are the participants because the creator does not give the clear explanation about the characters.
a.3. Ends (E)
The end of this picture above is talking about the nicest dreams if we are Syekh Puji that was popular than artist and had power to make decision at that time with his opulence than government. Although, the creator did not explain us about this but the readers knew about it.
a.4. Act Sequence (A)
It refers to the form and content of a message. In picture, again, when the first person in the picture said “pingin rasanya ngetop kayak artis” (I really want to be popular as an artist) and the second person in the same picture do not defeat with the first person, he says: “pengen rasanya bisa berkuasa kayak pejabat” (it is very nice if I have a power as the government has), the end person in the picture said: “kalo saya sih Cuma pengen bisa seperti Syekh Puji” (I only want to be Syekh Puji), his answer is the form of the message, and the content of the message is not mention that the last person is lowest, but he tried to show the public that Syekh Puji was popular than artist and had power to make decision at that time with his opulence than government. The content is analyzed based on the topic which is resulted by the form of the message. The topic of the message is about the condition of the person in this case is suitable with Hymes’ statement “content enters analysis first of all perhaps as a question of topic and of change of topic” (1986: 60).

Key related to the tone, manner, or spirit in which a particular message is conveyed: light-hearted, serious, precise, pedantic, mocking, sarcastic, pompous, and so on. Related to this term, the creator doesn’t even realize to use it but the creator use a simple strategic sentence to make the readers know what the creator means. Here, the readers could not know that the mass media of Jawa Post uses correct intonation or not, because the readers are only able to see and read the words or sentences in the pictures, so they just can imagine what the creator means.

We have already known that the instrument of this picture is mass media of Jawa post.
a.7. Norm of Interaction and Interpretation
The norm of interaction does not depend on social status or general social interaction in society. The Creator will make the picture and criticize based on the problems faced. Creator will not use a more formal or polite language. Norm of interpretation is the way how the readers interpreted what the creator means.

In the picture above, the creator uses his own polite language as the norm and the ethics of mass media instruction, and also easy to be understood by the readers without thinking.
b.Picture 2 (Datum 2)
The picture above is also one kind of criticism of Clekit pictures in the mass media of Jawa Post. At the glance, the creator of this picture (Wahyu Kokkang) raises the problem with a simple way and easy to understand. In the picture above discuss and show the readers about the phenomena of the sex video. Actually, the sex videos have been circulated in the internet, but one thing that makes this topic different is the players of sex video; that justified as the three top artists in Indonesia, as Ariel Peterpan, Luna Maya, and Cut Tary. This phenomenon’s raised to public and became the most favorite news during in the beginning of June 2010. Every single person is still talking about the news and they are always waiting for the progress report; maybe this news is still waited the audiences after this paper marked.
The analysis of the picture also will be explained clearly by using Hyme’s SPEAKING theory below:
b.1. The Scene and Setting
According to Dell Hymes’ Theory (1974), the scene is the "psychological setting" or "cultural definition" of a scene, including characteristics such as range of formality and sense of play or seriousness (Hymes 55-56). So, the scene related to the effect of the picture for the readers by reading it is that the readers will have perception if there are still many sex video of Ariel “Peterpan” with others woman.
The setting of the picture above (that discussed about the Sex Video Phenomena that guessed the players are Ariel; the Vocalist of Peterpan, Luna Maya; The presenter, Models, Artist, also Cut Tary; Models, and Presenter) was in mass media of Jawa Post, especially in the section of “opini” in the page 6 on Thursday 10th of July 2010.

The creators shows to us that the participants discussed above are Ariel; the Vocalist of Peterpan, Luna Maya; The presenter, Models, Artist, also Cut Tary; Models, and Presenter.

The ends of the picture shows us that still many sex video in the next time, because the developing issues show that still many artist that their sex video recorded with the different women but the same man.

In picture, again, when the first phone / picture above said “Ariel_Luna Maya.mp4” (it shows us that, the creator wants to show us that the first sex video players are Ariel and Luna Maya) and the second phone or picture in the same picture continues the first picture that says: “Ariel_Cut Tary.mp4” (this statement in the picture shows that the following sex video players are Ariel / the same man and Cut Tary / the different woman), and the end of the picture said: “to be continue” (the last picture show us that there are still many sex video that the player is Ariel with other women as AK,AE,BCL and etc). We can catch that those simple words in the picture above can publish that the simple words can influence the readers about the developing issues that still many sex videos are waiting to download.

III.Conclusion
Sociolinguist Dell Hymes developed the following model to promote the analysis of discourse as a series of speech events and speech acts within a cultural context. It uses the first letters of terms for speech components; the categories are so productive and powerful in analysis that you can use this model to analyze many different kinds of discourse. Mr. McGowan particularly enjoys applying this model to storytelling. The term is commonly named by Hymes SPEAKING theory that used by the writer. These terms can be applied to many kinds of discourse. Sometimes in a written discussion you might emphasize only two or three of the letters of the mnemonic. It provides a structure for you to perceive components.
After reading the analysis of the pictures in mass media of Jawa Post, especially Clekit side, we can know and understand that the creator of Clekit picture use the simple way to expose and criticize the phenomena that happens and be the hot news in the society of Indonesia. The creator does not need the long explanation about his means as the examples given above.
In short, the simple things can have a big meaning if we can show and explore it well and make it’s easy to understand, and sometime the simple picture or a simple thing has an implicit meaning if we know the story of the pictures discussed.

Kawasan wisata Blok bedul termasuk dalam kawasan Taman
Nasional Alas Purwo, terletak di desa Sumber Asri Kecamatan Purwoharjo. Kawasan
Blok bedul terdiri dari daratan ujung lemarengan dan segoro anakan kurang lebih
500 m, sedang panjangnya sekitar 16 kilometer. disepanjang tepian segoro anakan
terdapat tumbuhan mangrove yang masih alami dengan ketebalan dari bibir pantai
rata-rata 300 m.
Tidak sulit untuk menuju ke kawasan mangrove yang
berada di bagian selatan Banyuwangi ini, sudah ada penunjuk jalan yang telah di
sediakan oleh pemerintah setempat. Dari segi fasilitas, kawasan Bedul sudah
bisa di katakan memadai, mulai parkir yang luas, kamar mandi, mushola,
restaurant dan tempat singgah.
Untuk menuju Taman Nasional Alas Purwo, pengunjung
harus melewati segoro anakan yang telah di fasilitasi dengan kapal sampan. Di
kawasan Taman Nasional Alas Purwo, pengunjung harus melewati hutan yang masih
terjaga dan alami untuk menuju Pantai bedul yang sangat Indah dan Eksotik, yang
bisa di gunakan untuk berlibur keluarga.

Pada 19 Oktober 2009 adalah hari yang tidak
akan saya lupakan. Saat itu saya dan teman-teman UKM Seni Religius mengadakan acara
Festival Seni Islami dengan menghadirkan bintang Nasional; Opick. Dalam acara
yang di helat di depan gedung Sport Center UIN Malang, Saya dipercaya sebagai
MC acara tersebut bersama seorang smart girl yang telah melalang buana di dunia
MC; Dian Agustiningsih.
Dalam hati saya tidak menampik perasaan senang
dalam hati karena akan berada dalam satu panggung dengan seorang Opick yang sebelumnya
hanya bisa saya lihat di layar televisi dan mendengarkan langsung lantunan suara
Indah artis yang memiliki nama asli Ainur rofiq tersebut. Segala persiapan dilakukan
oleh saya dan Dian dengan maksimal beberapa hari sebelum hari H, mulai dari kostum,
make up dan tentunya materi dalam membawakan acara yang akan disaksikan oleh ribuan
pasang mata mahasiswa UIN Malang dan Warga Malang Raya.
Pra
acara, senandung lagu sholawat dari UKM Seni Religius membuka acara Festival Seni
Islami. Di awal, saya memang terlihat gugup meskipun ini bukan kali pertama saya
membawakan acara besar. Namun, selanjutnya setelah saya dan Dian saling mengoreksi
kekurangan masing-masing, kami bisa membawakan acara FSI 2009 dengan lancar. Beberapa
menit setelah Saya dan Dian berkomentar tentang Opick di hadapan Ribuan pasang mata,
Opick datang dengan iringan pihak birokrasi, keamanan dan beberapa panitia.
Tibalah
saat Opick maju di atas panggung bersama kami disambut tepuk tangan dan terikan
ribuan penonton, perasaan senang itu kembali muncul. Terlebih ketika Bang Opick
-begitu kami menyapa- berdiri diantara saya dan Dian. Kami berbincang-bincang di
atas panggung sesekali terdengar ricuhan dari penonton yang terlihat tak sabar untuk
menyaksikan Bang Opick beraksi.
Dalam
rentetan acara FSI UKM SR, penonton juga dihibur oleh penampilan anggota SR terbaik
yang telah memenangkan berbagai event Nasional yang memiliki suara emas; Laily Riski
Amalia.
Acara
tersebut benar-benar semarak. Animo penonton yang begitu besar merupakan cambukan
semangat bagi saya dan Dian untuk tampil maksimal. Alhamdulillah, kami bisa membawakan
acara tersebut dengan lancar. Sebuah pengalaman berharga
khususnya bagi saya. Terimakasih UKM Seni Religius,
terimakasih kepada semua pihak, khususnya Mas Arif Masrukhin yang telah membimbing
Saya dan Dian sebelum acara berlangsung, terimakasih.....
Setelah melalui berbagai proses yang sangat ketat yang
meliputi Tes Tulis tentang Seni, Budaya, Pariwisata Banyuwangi serta
Pengetahuan Umum dari calon Finalis Jebeng Thulik 2009 dilanjutkan tes Wiraga
yang di ikuti oleh lebih dari ratusan Putra-putri berbakat Banyuwangi
ditetapkan 50 Semifinalis yang berhak mengikuti Tahapan tes lisan dihari kedua
yang bertempat di Pendopo Pelinggihan Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata
Banyuwangi, di tetapkan 20 Finalis yang berhak mengikuti Tahap Karantina pada
30 November – 05 Desember 2009 di Hotel Mirah Banyuwangi dan Desa Adat Kemiren
Banyuwangi, dan Malam Penobatan pada 05 Desember 2009 di Gesibu Blambangan.
Dalam Proses Karantina, banyak sekali hal-hal baru yang
di lakukan oleh 20 Finalis Jebeng Thulik 2009, para finalis di berikan
pembekalan tantang Seni, Budaya, dan Pariwisata secara keseluruhan agar kelak
ketika terpilih menjadi Icon Pariwisata Banyuwangi, para finalis mampu
mempromosikan Banyuwangi secara keseluruhan kepada khalayak. Selain itu, para
finalis tidak hanya belajar materi indoor, melainkan juga terjun langsung di
desa adat Kemiren.
Pemilihan Jebeng dan Thulik Banyuwangi telah selesai
digelar pada tanggal 5 Desember 2009, bertempat di GESIBU Banyuwangi ke 20
pasang Jebeng dan Thulik bersaing dalam malam penobatan tersebut, dan akhirnya
Novike Mahasiswi Bahasa Inggris UNTAG Banyuwangi dan Jonatan mahasiswa hokum
Universitas Airlangga Surabaya dinobatkan sebagai Jebeng dan Thulik Banyuwangi 2009.
Sebelum perhelatan Grand Final dimulai, Tepat Jam 18.00
Wib dengan berbusana Jebeng dan Thulik ke-20 Finalis tersebut berangkat dari
Pelinggihan Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Banyuwangi diarak dengan
menggunakan Dokar Wisata, arak-arakan ini diikuti Jebeng Thulik Tahun 2008
(Alefan dan Adindha Kusum). kesenian Terbang kemiren turut serta dalam pawai
tersebut,membuat arak-arakkan semakin meriah. Dengan desain panggung yang
“sangat” megah dan penuh nuansa sakral khas Banyuwangi ke-20 pasang Finalis
Jebeng Thulik Banyuwangi memasuki pelataran Gesibu dengan disambut taburan
beras kuning sebagai simbul bahwa ke-20 pasang Finalis tersebut siap untuk
diperas atau dikukuhkan. Acara yang di gelar tiap tahun ini mendapat respon
yang sangat meriah dari Warga Banyuwangi, supporter dari semua finalis termasuk
pendukung Tashim yang datang langsung dari Desa Tegalpare – Muncar.
Dalam Malam penobatan Duta Wisata Banyuwangi tahun 2009
ini, juga menampilan tari persembahan dari anggota Paguyuban Jebeng Thulik
Banyuwangi dapat menghadirkan nuansa malam semakin meriah. Setelah melakukan
presentasi yang telah di persiapkan oleh masing-masing Finalis dan 6 Dewan juri
memberikan pertanyaan kepada masing-masing finalis secara acak, akhirnya juri
memutuskan dan menetapkan Novike dan Jonatan sebagai Jebeng dan Thulik
Banyuwangi 2009.
